FitzGerald designed the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility for Underground Devices, transforming a single-story, 106,920-square-foot industrial office building in the Chicago suburbs. The project included the tenant buildout of the existing structure, incorporating a new manufacturing floor, storage areas, and reconfigured office and cafeteria spaces. Prefabricated offices were also installed to support the company’s operational needs.

Working closely with the client’s engineering team, FitzGerald optimized the production floor layout to ensure efficiency while planning for future expansion. The design prioritized the company’s culture, creating modern, urban-inspired spaces that support collaboration and elevate the employee experience. Casual, open areas foster interaction and engagement, complemented by playful, street art-inspired finishes that reflect the company’s fun and family-oriented ethos.

The resulting headquarters balances functionality and creativity, setting the stage for growth and innovation in a dynamic, employee-centered environment.
