Sydney Serwatt
Associate - Architecture
Sydney began her journey with FitzGerald as an intern during college and transitioned to a full-time role after earning her master’s degree. She has contributed to various affordable housing projects and multifamily renovations, embracing the challenge of giving existing buildings new life. Known for her proactive approach, Sydney excels at identifying and solving problems. She finds gratification in designing layouts and shaping spaces that users will inhabit and enjoy. Taking her professional journey to the next step, she is currently working toward her architecture licensure. Sydney plays a key role in fostering the culture at FitzGerald and actively works to strengthen the sense of community within the firm.
An avid thrift shopper and antique enthusiast, Sydney prefers second-hand finds—especially furniture—over buying new. She enjoys tackling home improvement projects and takes pride in her ever-growing houseplant collection, which is close to 30 and counting. In her free time, she loves biking along the lakefront and enjoying everything the city of Chicago has to offer.
