Burnham Pointe
Chicago, Illinois
FitzGerald was tapped to redesignand reconfiguration the amenity lounge at Burnham Pointe in Chicago’s historic Printers Row. Originally designed as a condo development in 2008, the building amenities were not reflective of the modern apartment dwellers needs. The conventional “Business Center” was converted to a private Club Room. An indoor pool was removed to create a new and expansive residential lounge that includes work-from-home features including private rooms and plug-and-play furniture groupings that can also be used on weekends for gathering with friends and watching the game. A new operable wall was added to allow open flow between the lounge and newly updated roof deck with outdoor kitchen. This amenity floor renovation also includes a significant expansion of the health club, with higher ceilings and a skyline view as well as a private fitness classroom.
The style of the spaces was inspired by the hey-days of the Printer’s Row neighborhood past. The new Club Room has a speakeasy feel, with custom wall paneling and globe light fixtures. The residential lounge features era-inspired details, including millwork and custom graphics that evoke the inner workings of a print shop.
