Millennium on LaSalle
Chicago, Illinois
At 29 South LaSalle in the heart of Chicago’s Loop, Millennium on Lasalle is the first complete residential conversion along LaSalle Street, transforming a 13-story historic office building into a high-end apartment development. This unique project blends modern conveniences and finishes with captivating historic elements. The 216 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments feature state-of-the-art mechanical systems and technological conveniences, including integrated USB power sources, a pre-wired media hub, and Bluetooth audio.
The building’s new 14th-floor amenity level includes a pool, lounge, fitness room, dog run, and landscaped rooftop deck. In the basement, residents enjoy various amenities: multimedia screening and game rooms, a music practice space with a recording booth, a dog wash room, laundry/dry cleaning valet, secure private storage, and bicycle storage connected to a first-floor bike workshop via a ramped stairway.
The lobby was updated with contemporary finishes, furniture, and lighting, combining modern aesthetics with historic marble details. A coffee and media lounge was added on the first floor, and adjacent Arcade Place was designed for outdoor cafe-style seating as an additional shared area. Originally constructed as the National Life Building by Jenney & Mundie in 1902, the building was renovated in 1940 and was most recently known as Barrister Hall.
