Millennium on LaSalle

Chicago, Illinois

Located at 29 South LaSalle in the heart of Chicago’s Loop, Millennium on LaSalle represents LaSalle Street’s first complete residential conversion—transforming the existing 13-story office building into a highly amenitized development that blends contemporary finishes and conveniences with captivating historic elements. The 216 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments include the latest in “smart” mechanical systems and technological conveniences, such as integrated USB power sources, a pre-wired media hub, and Bluetooth audio.

A new 14th-floor amenity level was added to the building, featuring a pool, a lounge, a fitness room, a dog run, and a landscaped roof deck. In the basement, residents enjoy access to multimedia screening and game rooms, a musical practice space with a recording booth, a dog wash room, a laundry/dry cleaning valet, and secure private storage. Bicycle storage in the basement connects to a first-floor bike workshop via a stair with a bike-friendly ramp.

The lobby was renovated with new contemporary finishes, furniture, and lighting—introducing a modern aesthetic within the historic marble-clad space. A coffee/media lounge was created on the first floor, and the streetscape of adjacent Arcade Place was planned to accommodate outdoor café-style seating as an additional common area. Built as the National Life Building and designed by Jenney & Mundie, the structure was completed in 1902. It underwent renovation in 1940 and was most recently known as Barrister Hall.
