Sophie approaches every project with an analytical mindset, prioritizing functionality while embracing aesthetic value as a bonus. She values feedback from those who use the space daily, using these insights to guide her process, whether addressing existing issues or envisioning new possibilities. A natural storyteller, Sophie grounds her designs in locality, creating narratives that enhance the user experience. She ensures these stories stay alive throughout the design and construction process, keeping each project authentic and connected to its surroundings. Sophie contributed to the award-winning Foundry, and Artisan projects and values collaborating with repeat clients throughout Chicago renovating lobbies, amenity spaces and leasing offices.   

An active and competitive spirit, Sophie, along with her husband, is always up for a new adventure.  They stay active training for triathlons and training their dog for agility trials. Bilingual in German and English, Sophie enjoys riding her bike throughout the city, world travel and has a serious love of doughnuts. Fall is her favorite season, especially for apple picking but above all she cherishes time spent with family and friends.
