Mike De Rouin
Principal, President
Mike has spent 33 years at FitzGerald, leading strategic design for diverse projects including mixed-use developments, multifamily, commercial, office, retail, industrial and parking facilities. He has repurposed obsolete buildings, overseeing projects exceeding $5 billion in construction costs, generating over $800 billion in value. With a background in both architecture and engineering, he prioritizes sustainable design for healthy communities. As a seasoned professional problem solver, Mike understands the complexities of permitting, zoning, ever-changing codes, and the landscape of commercial and residential development across all cities FitzGerald designs and how to navigate past them.
Mike offers consultancy and mentorship within and outside the workplace, contributing to various initiatives and competitions. Over the years guiding and mentoring students at Roosevelt University’s Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate, and Colorado NAIOP Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and volunteering as a Troop Leader for his local Boy Scout Troops.
